What can be the cause?
Hip pain can be caused from a trauma, slip or fall or being overworked through exercise or poor mechanics or posture. Pain can be felt locally to the hip or in the thigh, groin, outside the hip, buttocks or referral to the knee.
What do you feel?
Symptoms can include, dull ache, sharp catching pain, numbness, tingling, heaviness, clicking and can last anything from a few minutes to weeks/months. The pain can prevent laying on that side at night and makes stairs, sitting and walking distance and running a challenge.
What to do?
If you are suffering from hip pain, it is worth having a consult with us to establish its cause. If your pain is beyond our scope of practice, you will be referred and advised accordingly for the appropriate therapy/investigations.
If it is within our scope, we can work with you to help restore your body to its natural mechanics and relieve muscle tightness enabling the body to self-heal and regulate; as well as discuss the best way to prevent re-occurrence.
